Tickled Clamshell? I DID IT!!!

Houston, we've got ignition! One Inklingo Pickled Clamshell... and one tickled quilter!

I'll admit I was so close to abandoning this project and would have, if a dear friend hadn't repeatedly talked me out of the pit of despair and frustration! I didn't need a quilting project to do that... I've got two kids that can accomplish that quite well! ;-) My biggest problem was that I purchased the cheapest HP printer at Walmart. I was certain I'd made a mistake about choosing it, because it just would not work with my laptop. I spent weeks of tweeking... mumbling... even hubby took a shot at it. At the very last gasp, when I was ready to return the printer, hubby finally found the obscure setting that was blocking the printer signal. Ugh! But imagine my glee when I began printing shapes onto my fabrics!!! I was literally phoning friends and we were all doing happy dances! I printed several tests and all of the many ink colors available washed out completely, so my old eyes can use any color they want! :- D

My intention with this quilt is to utilize my huge stash of scraps. Some mine, some my mother's and even many from dear friends. It will be my memory quilt... and hopefully my masterpiece. You have to have one of those in your life, and when I saw this pattern, I knew I'd finally found the design of my dreams!!!

I swear that the first arc of points took so long... I thought it would never come together. I'd taken to locking myself in the bathroom to get another piece stitched on, before the kids began banging on the door wanting my attention. ;-) Anyway, the first of anything seems to take the longest, and I'm thrilled to finish this one and begin the next Tickled Clamshell!

I'm sure pioneer ladies would have adored this pattern, as it would have been perfect for a friendship swap of fabrics! There is plenty of time to stitch while you ponder the next fabric combination. This quilt will be a delightful collection of memories!

Until next time, keep them in stitches!
